Well Michael has been powering along clearing the edge of the creek removing invasive blackberry and Privet and other various ‘weeds’. It really does look great now that you can see right through to the water line. There is a lot of work left in reshaping the creek beds helping to prevent the erosion and scouring that happens when we have the heavy rainfall pushing large amounts of water through the area.
In these photos you can see where the creek beds have slumped through undercutting when the water flows at full speed. This area can actually fully fill up and flood during heavy rainfall.
The leaves from the surrounding deciduous trees are now all gone and the space looks very different from summer, especially when you can see right across the creek and large open garden space.
