Leek of the week

We’ve seen this week in the news that giving things away can be controversial, but you wont get into trouble sharing our tasty leeks. If you’re passing the gardens this weekend, pick up a free pot of leeks from outside the shed at the entrance.

Jobs today: dividing garlic and leeks, planting leek and garlic around path edges of apple walk, divide more leeks to give away, more mulching, cut down a willow in a bad place for a willow, propagate basket willow and heritage apples from cuttings. On the other side of the creek caretaking the reinactment site, and work continues in construction of a flood control basin.

Soup: To a base of three grains including quinoa & buckwheat,  heaps of young spinach, chard and parsley nutmeg and curry makes a simple tasty soup.
