save the date -10/10/10

Grab your chance to be part of a global event while eating and growing food on this very auspicious date … It’s been a tough year – in North America, oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico; in Asia some of the highest temperatures ever recorded; in the Arctic, the fastest melting of sea ice ever seen; in Latin America, record rainfalls washing away whole mountainsides.

So we’re having a party!

All over the world, people are getting together to do something to help global warming. Transition Blue Mountains and Katoomba Area Climate Action Now are hosting a Global Work Party at the Blue Mountains Community Gardens this Sunday – the 10th of the 10th of 2010.

We’ll share a picnic lunch at 1pm and then work together for an hour in the gardens. It’ll be FUN … so bring family, friends, musical instruments, gardening gloves and enthusiasm… and don’t forget your lunch! We’ll also find a creative way to form the 350 logo and send it in to be collaged with thousands of others from around the globe. For more information, phone 4782 4897 or check out

  1. Dear folks,
Congratulations on the event/events. I’ll be holding one at my place from 10am to 1pm and perhaps we’ll try to attend yours. Good reminder about the photo… we’ll try for one here.
    Ciao from Maryanne.
    PS I’ll love your work!
PPS Try and visit the Mid Mountains Community Garden at Lawson.
