Volunteers Sunday 30 September

Well the day was bright and sunny after some pretty crazy weather over the last few days with high levels of cold wind and then some rain… it was still fairly windy but time seemed to pass very quickly. Was good to see both new people and regulars turn up.

This first photo is at beginning of the session where Jason gave a quick update about the process of inoculating some oak wood logs with Shitake Mushroom spore using a drill and many small holes.

We mainly focussed today on further developing the top swale at the north end of the gardens where we measured out post holes for some trellis to be used for growing vines and cordon fruit trees etc. This will provide some edging and protection for the new planting beds.

Thanks to all those who came and helped. 🙂

Next Sunday is the Festival of Joy and we will be doing some basic garden maintenance at the usual time from 10am and then people will be setting up for the start of the festival at 12 midday.
